Scholarship Spotlight: Eric Griffin

Eric Griffin, who was awarded the Brenda Wilson Scholarship in 2005, graduated in December with a Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
Griffin graduated in December 2009 with a Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. Upon graduation, Eric resumed his work at BP with a promotion from Intern to Drilling Engineer in the Gulf of Mexico. He is currently working on a rig called the Transocean Development Driller 3 in the Atlantis field.
At OU, Eric was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, as well as the Society of African American Brotherhood. He also served as treasurer and historian of the Iota Phi Theta Fraternity. Losing his mother more than ten years ago was a tragedy, but with the help of his Grandmother and the Morefield Boys & Girls Club, Eric has accomplished his mother's dream to earn a college degree and is now living his dream as a Petroleum Engineer
